Return Miller to House
The Times Herald
Candice Miller was at her best when she was a leader in the fight to save the A-10 attack aircraft at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The proposed cuts — against Air National Guard units throughout the nation — were poorly conceived and eventually rejected.
The cuts to Selfridge, in the heart of the Republican congresswoman’s 10th District, would have been devastating to ANG base and the region.
Miller faces a challenge from Chuck Stadler, a Vassar Democrat with a good heart, but not in her league. Voters of the 10th District deserve a viable alternative, but Democrats continue to concede the congressional seat to Republicans by opting to field opponents rather than serious challenges.
Miller is a dedicated lawmaker who serves her district well. There is no reason why she shouldn’t continue.
