Fighting Against Exploding Deficits

Federal government spending has gotten out of control and as a result we are saddling our children, grandchildren and future generations with unsustainable amounts of debt. Over the eight years of the Bush administration the national debt doubled because Congress and the President did not control spending. Even worse the new budget passed by the House, which I opposed, doubles the already massive debt in just four years and triples it in ten years.

This has got to stop.

These out of control deficits, including the deficit this year which is projected to be $1.75 trillion, if continued will undoubtedly force massive increases in taxes to feed government and put our already weakened economy at further jeopardy. And an ever growing government will continue to encroach further into the daily lives of individual citizens and businesses that just want the freedom to work toward the American Dream.

I will continue to fight against wasteful Washington spending and the inevitable tax hikes that will surely come along with it. It is long past time that Congress starts to understand that we must not continue to harm future generations with a crushing burden of debt.
